Why Defex

Join a small team building a robot cell that assembles a part and then proves the joint held. You will be in the room for the bench runs and the failures, decide which of it is worth showing, and shape how factories, candidates and investors first meet us.

In this role you will

• Film the bench runs, the cell and the parts that failed, and cut them into something people finish.
• Sit with the engineering long enough to describe it accurately, including when the result is a no.
• Run the publishing calendar across LinkedIn, X, YouTube and Instagram.
• Build the launch around each milestone: first bench result, first install, first paid pilot.
• Get a written post, a short cut and stills out of every shoot day.
• Keep the footage organised so the second year is faster than the first.

What we hope you’ll bring

• Work you personally shot and cut, not work you commissioned.
• The whole pipeline solo: storyboard, light, shoot, edit, publish.
• Writing an engineer would not need to correct.
• Ease around machines, prototypes and people who are mid-problem.
• A read on which hardware demos look real and which look staged.

Bonus points if you have

• Shot inside a factory, a lab or a machine shop.
• Resolve, Premiere, After Effects, Blender or motion graphics.
• Grown a channel and know how a format changes per platform.
